Following Barolo, Barbaresco is Piemonte’s second iconic wine, and it has a slightly more feminine, leaner structure than the former. 2019 was a cool vintage with a wet spring, thus, the ripening season was prolonged. The harvest started relatively late, at the beginning of October, and eventually beautifully ripened grapes arrived at the cellar.
The Piemonte winery was launched in 1904 and is run by the Antinori family today. They have 65 hectares next to the town of Alba in the historic vineyards of the famous Langhe region. Scientific accuracy, constant development, wine and grappa, local varieties in focus: Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto.
