Piemonte’s iconic wine, Barolo, made 100% from the Nebbiolo variety, with a masculine structure and leathery notes. The vineyards are located around the villages of Monforte, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga, the grapes are harvested from limestone and clay soil, aged in large, French barrels for 18 months. Intense aromas of rose petals, red fruits, spicy notes and subtle earthiness. The balanced palate has sour cherry, cherry, leather and mushroom notes, and a long finish. Now, it’s an exceptional experience, but it will definitely age to be even nicer in the next 10 years.
The Piemonte winery was launched in 1904 and is run by the Antinori family today. They have 65 hectares next to the town of Alba in the historic vineyards of the famous Langhe region. Scientific accuracy, constant development, wine and grappa, local varieties in focus: Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto.
