100% Barbera selection from the place that brings out the best in the variety. The fruit of the limestone and marl Costamiole, aged for 12 months in French oak before it was bottled. The grape variety’s typical light tannins and higher acidity are prevalent in this wine, too. Violets and the barrels’ cocoa, cinnamon, while the palate is dominated by plums and black cherries. It’s a rich, dense wine, yet one with very good drinkability.
The Piemonte winery was launched in 1904 and is run by the Antinori family today. They have 65 hectares next to the town of Alba in the historic vineyards of the famous Langhe region.
