The Falvo family launched their new Massera Li Veli product line called Contrade, which is made exclusively from high-quality grapes purchased from local growers, in 2015. The name Contrade (meaning parcel) denotes long-known and named vineyard areas bordered by stone walls, rows of trees, and recognizable natural features. It’s one of the entry-level Primitivos of the selection, and is also the fruit of a regional collaboration: with a slightly atypical character, instead of over-ripeness and full body, it shows the variety’s more playful, lighter face. Its joyous character shows figs, candy flavours and spiciness, and the acids are rounded out by a little residual sugar.
