The defining wine of the Antinori family from Puglia also became the first from the region that the world acknowledged, after Wine Spectator listed it among its 100 favourite wines. The name means short-tailed, which is a reference to the old, gnarled bush-trained vines of the estate. The central wine of our Primitivo selection represents a modern style, whereby alongside the high density, it still has vibrant and fresh flavours. To intensify the character of the variety, the grapes were harvested in a slightly overripe state. The tank fermentation in the cellar was followed by almost a year of ageing in Hungarian and French barrels. Lively and ripe at the same time: intensely fruity, with raspberry, cherry, ripe plum, plus sweet spices, tobacco and chocolate.
