The Antinori family's Guado al Tasso estate first crafted Vermentino in 1996, with a mission to rediscover and showcase this local variety, which has been highly valued since the 1990s for its intense aromatics and fresh character. The microclimate of Bolgheri – the proximity to the sea, the constant breezes and the excellent orientation – is particularly favourable for its cultivation. These factors give the wine its characteristic minerality, vibrant acidity and rich aromas. Each parcel was harvested separately based on the ripeness of the grapes in order to preserve and highlight the character of each vineyard.
After arrival, the grape clusters were destemmed, gently crushed and delicately pressed. The must was transferred to stainless steel tanks, in which alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 16 °C. The individual lots were carefully and systematically selected, and the final wine was created by blending these components. Its colour is straw yellow with subtle greenish tints. On the nose, it reveals intense, fresh citrus, floral and fruity notes: the dominant aromas are orange blossom and peach. On the palate, it is lively, well-structured and has a salty character, with the citrus notes lingering pleasantly and a fresh, harmonious finish.

The family’s wine history spans 26 generation since 1385, with novelties that defined the wine world, a network of estates on 1,000 hectares in Tuscany and Umbria, wine, brandy, grappa and olive oil. Books could be filled with the family’s history, and today they are one of Italy’s largest wine enterprises.
