The 57-hectare vineyard has been the property of the Antinori family since 1900, the first vintage from there was in 1971. It comes from limestone-rich soil, from a height of 350-400 metres. It was aged in French and Hungarian barrels (both new and old) for 14-16 months, and rested for a year in the bottle before being put onto the market.
From 2019, it was made in beautiful balance, with thick body and tannins, in a classic Tignanello style. Balsamic notes on the palate, mint and chocolate. It’s a rich, vibrant wine with a velvety structure.
The family’s wine history spans 26 generation since 1385, with novelties that defined the wine world, a network of estates on 1,000 hectares in Tuscany and Umbria, wine, brandy, grappa and olive oil. Books could be filled with the family’s history, and today they are one of Italy’s largest wine enterprises.
