A classic rosé that got its name, Cipresseto, from the pointed cypress trees that can be found all over Tuscany. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Syrah macerated to form a pale pink colour, with wild strawberries, orange peel and flowers on the nose, then strawberries, raspberries and grapefruit on the palate, and a long finish.
The first Santa Cristina was bottled by Niccoló Antinori in 1946, but the independent estate has only been operating since 2006 in Cortona, Tuscany. Besides Vermentino, Greco Bianco, Trebbiano and Sangiovese, they also work with international varieties. The classic Santa Cristina is made as red, white and rosé.
