The grapes were harvested from the most diverse parts of Marlborough, which resonates in the harmony of the fine, cooler crispness and riper tropical flavours. The winemaking focuses on freshness at every point of the process. The nose is energetic and pristinely pure with everything green in it: gooseberry, freshly cut grass, asparagus and lime, alongside mango and passion fruit. The starting point of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
New Zealand’s first bottled Sauvignon Blanc was made by Matua. The rest is history – the common success story of Sauvignon Blanc and New Zealand. The winery that works in several New Zealand wine regions, makes distinctive wines – besides Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir also plays a key role.
