For this summer, we also brought in a rosé from Matua, known for its vivacious New World wines. It is of course made from Pinot Noir, the most important black grape in New Zealand. It was made with rapid, reductive vinification, the aroma intensity is characteristic of the cellar's wines, with strawberry, tangerine and gooseberry.
New Zealand’s first bottled Sauvignon Blanc was made by Matua. The rest is history – the common success story of Sauvignon Blanc and New Zealand. The winery that works in several New Zealand wine regions, makes distinctive wines – besides Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir also plays a key role.
