Vinho Verde is a wine region in the northwestern corner of Portugal, where the ‘air-conditioning’ effect of the Atlantic Ocean helps produce refreshingly vibrant white wines. ‘Dócil’, grown on granite soils, is made from Loureiro, and alongside Alvarinho, it is one of the region’s leading grape varieties. Spontaneously fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on fine lees for five months, without malolactic fermentation. It is distinctive – with both inviting fruitiness and cool minerality. Lime, green apple and white flower aromas, joined on the palate by a pronounced salinity. Despite its freshness, the new vintage has a slightly denser, deeper structure than the previous year.
