In the past, some Spanish estates made two kinds of wine each year: the vintage wine and the non-vintage wine called ‘Reserva Especial’, which was always blended across the best vintages. With this wine, Vega Sicilia wants to keep this Spanish tradition alive, and at the same time achieve – via the best Únicó vintages – that the wines of different years should balance each other out perfectly, and the outcome should equate to elegance. This wine is made up of three vintages of completely different characters, and in the blend the freshness of 2008, the drought of 2011 and the exceptional complexity and concentration of 2010 are fused in a way that they complement and do not suppress one another, and it makes this wine especially elegant and ready to be enjoyed.
