Rioja has provided most of Spain’s wine legends, including Alvaro Palacios. The most important wine of his estate is La Montesa, a true eccentric. In terms of character, it is far from other Tempranillo-based blends due to its varietal composition. It has a pomegranate colour, and the nose is pure flowers. It has been selected from a 100-hectare, organically-cultivated, bush-vine-trained vineyard.
