Álvaro Palacios—one of the defining figures of modern Spanish wine—returned to the

family estate after establishing his legendary Priorat winery, setting out to revive Rioja Oriental. The cornerstone of the Palacios Remondo range is La Vendimia (“The Harvest”). This wine is never solely about vineyard sites or winemaking technique; rather, it expresses local character and the nature of the vintage itself. In 2023, it was sourced from equal parts Garnacha and Tempranillo, selected from 45 hectares of bush-trained vineyards aged between 17 and 47 years.

At the winery, tank fermentation is followed by five months of aging in used French oak barrels. After a few additional months in bottle, the wine is released while still youthful. Pure and expressive, carrying the rugged, raw atmosphere of the Rioja landscape. At the same time, the overall impression remains elegant, mineral, vibrant and long. Best served well chilled. Spontaneously fermented, bottled unfiltered and with minimal sulfur.
