Viura and Malvasía grapes grow on the 11 hectares of the Tondonia vineyard, and the Blanco Reserva is put on the shelves after 10 years of ageing of the blend. This is one of the handful of cult wines in the world, more sought-after than the estate's reds.
The bunches are picked by hand, then they are poured into an old destemmer from the wooden baskets, the crushed grapes go into the press with a few stalks, and then fermentation begins in wooden vats. They are not overly careful with the ageing here either, the Blanco spends the first six years in barrels, then it goes into the bottle unfiltered, where it ages for another 4-5 years before being put on the shelves. 2013 was definitely a cool and rainy year, with a late harvest and low yields. Straw yellow colour, with a subtle opalescent, unfiltered appearance. Its aromas simultaneously remind us of the mature wines of Champagne, Tokaj and Jerez. Stone fruits, tobacco and honey work well together on the nose. Toffee and hazelnut melt gently with a thousand other flavours on the mature and smooth palate.
