Basa is a cornerstone of our Spanish selection. Telmo Rodriguez favours local varieties, so in 2023 it was made from a blend of 90% Verdejo and 10% Viura, and it turned out even fresher than usual. The grapes were harvested at night, mainly manually but some by machine, followed by fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks for 3-4 months. Both on the nose and on the palate, there are notes of pomelo, pear and restrained green herbs. Flavourful and substantial, it’s a perfect alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Grüner Veltliner.
