In the Szepsy land in 2003 the most of the dry grapes originated from Lapis field, the bigger part of the base wine originated from Úrágya. The half year of fermentation was followed by 3,5 years of ripening in new Hungarian casks. Its natural rest sugar content is 230 g/l so we got an essence of aszú with aszú label. From this 8000 bottles were made but less than half of them remain in Hungary. This is good news in one hand but in other hand it is sad that the abundance of 2003 is followed by a year of fasting because Szepsy aszú was made in 2005 again in less number of bottles. However this December passes not in the spirit of fasting bit in the spirit of Christmas holiday preparation with 6 puttonyos aszú from 2003 at Christmas price.
